I find harmony to be the most challenging of the principles. To achieve harmony there must be a balance between unity and variety. Too much unity becomes monotonous, and too much variety leads to visual clutter. I find that unity is achieved by having a master plan and selecting all of the major components at the beginning of the project. Variety allows me to introduce humor or something unexpected into the mix. Variety helps me deliver a unique space that reflects my client’s preferences and lifestyle. "
